I will continue with her through the summer to make sure I am ready for the 1/2 in September.  I am not a super athlete, I run for fun and to be with my girls and I am really missing them.  This personal trainer has been wonderful and has really shown me that I can’t just run but really need to work on my core strength and upper body.

Really not allowed to run yet, still doing walking running intervals. Soooooo, I decided to work with a personal trainer to help me get over this injury and make me stronger in other areas so hopefully i can become a better runner.I thought I was in pretty good shape but holy moly was I ever wrong. I thought I was actually gonna hurl a couple of times! I really hope I can start running soon because I am going stir crazy and was supposed to start 1/2 training 2 weeks ago.

I really don’t do the whole injured, see a Physical Therapist, don’t run when you are supposed to be training for a 1/2, wear a boot to bed thing very well. So not well that I went ahead and ran the 8k scheduled. What a suck Fest that was. I am doing everything I am told to do and in the mean time I have been hitting the pool which is kinda Nnice. I swam nationally for 12 years but it sure is different being back in the pool. You sometimes just expect to be able to start right back from where you ended 20 years ago. Good grief, 20 years ago. PT says to trust her so that is what I am going to do. I am also seeing a personal trainer once a week to work on core and upper body strength as well as some intense stretching. I just want to run peeps!!!!!

Not ready for the 8k tomorrow and should probably pull out but I was given the go ahead to do a light jog/walk combination.  I jut don’t have it in me to not complete a race I am signed up for.  I will stop and get off the race course if I feel like my leg can’t take it.  Will be running with a bunch of my girls and they said they would carry me through if they had to!  This is why I love running and all the great friendships I have made!

Went to PT today knowing the news wouldn’t be good.  I am not to run until further notice.  I have a race this Saturday and she said I could do it with an easy jog walk combination.  This does not sit well with me.  I am pissed.  I do not do injurys well.  How is it possible that after only a year and a half of running this is happening.  I only run 4 days a week and do one race a month.  What the heck!!! Okay enough whining for now.  I will be hitting the pool and the bike.  Hmmmm, maybe I can do a tri sometime. One never knows!
